Joseph Madamba, M.D.
Joseph Madamba, M.D., was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He earned his bachelor's degree in Economics with Honors from Occidental College, where he graduated Summa cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to graduate from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, CA - an affiliate of the University of Southern California. The son of two well-regarded community physicians, Dr. Joseph witnessed first-hand their strong work ethic and commitment to their patients, and was taught the importance of treating patients with excellence, courtesy, and compassion.
While in medical school and training, Dr. Joseph encountered the life-saving marvels of modern medicine but at the same time witnessed many of the system's pitfalls: namely, the flaws of insurance- and government-based healthcare as well as the prevalence of the "pill for every ill" mentality which was biased against lifestyle- and natural-based therapeutic options. By grace, through spiritual guru Divine Mother's guidance Dr. Joseph was introduced to the concept of integrative medicine which resonated with his views on healthy & healing, and reinvigorated him. After becoming board-certified in internal medicine, he went on to receive additional training and certification with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, and (in-progress) the Institute for Function Medicine. Dr. Joseph went into private practice in 2010, joining his parents in their clinic, and practices holistic primary care to this day. He is passionate about helping people learn how to optimize their health. He enjoys spending time with family, cooking, positive movies & TV shows, comedies, singing, zumba, and yoga.
