Dr. Herrera is a practicing periodontist in Atherton, CA. Her mentor in dentistry is her late father, Dr. Carl Herrera who believed in always striving to raise the bar of excellence. Being raised in a “dental family” fueled her passion for dentistry from a young age. Dr. Herrera always knew she would work to serve her patients at the highest level of care and treat them like family, just like her father did.
Dr. Herrera has built her practice centered on health. Her vision is to empower patients to elevate their oral and overall health through education and state-of-the-art periodontal care. This approach includes listening, sharing information, and preparing patients for treatment. She is especially passionate about providing compassionate care and keeping patients comfortable during and after treatment. Her practice emphasis is oral care education, laser and traditional treatment for periodontal disease, periodontal plastic surgery, regenerative procedures, microsurgery, and maintenance; all delivered with kindness and compassion. The science linking periodontal disease to cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, adverse pregnancy outcomes, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimers Disease, and osteoporosis is of particular interest to Dr. Herrera and she shares this information daily as part of the care she and her team provide.
